So after a long hiatus I now have plenty of time to do whatever I want. At least until Tuesday. On Friday, September 3rd our Co-Ed Softball season started. For some reason I had a feeling I would get hurt. I was even extra cautious and bought a mouth gaurd. I was always so worried about playing and getting hurt because we don't have any insurance. Well my biggest fear came true that night.
We play double headers against the same team on Friday nights. We were into our second game, last inning and we were down. I had an amazing hit to the outfield in the hole between two men :) and started running as fast as my legs could carry me. As I rounded 2ND I saw that he finally was able to reach the ball as it rolled to the fence so I knew the play at 3rd base would be close. Sliding never being my strong point it is almost just like a reflex to do it when I know I am in jeopardy of getting out. She there I went put my leg out to slide. Right leg got caught underneath me and snap. I saw my leg kick up in front of me only to see that it was pointing out to my right. My leg was straight so besides the pain I immediately knew that I was screwed. I screamed a little and had plenty of people around me to comfort me until the ambulance came. Devon was a work and was going to a football game where I was going to meet up with him after my game. Needless to say that didn't happen. At first I was screaming and realized no tears where coming at all. So I just stopped. It was the strangest thing. I lay there in the dirt waiting for the ambulance to come. Even in time of distress I have to say I was pretty funny. I told the paramedics to make sure and take me to the free hospital. Hahaha. They asked their normal questions and I just waited what seemed like forever to get me out of there. I was very talkative and asked a lot of questions in the ambulance.
We finally arrived to the hospital where they asked more questions. About an hour later I had x-rays taken. I still had not seen Devon and that was all I really wanted at that point. Finally got some meds in me and 3 doses later it kicked in. So I dislocated and broke my fibula bone. Nice huh! They had to put it back in place(they sent me to the twilight zone as they called it so I wouldn't remember that, whew!!) and put a splint on it. So about 3 1/2 hours later I was out. Pretty good now that I think of it but at the time it seemed like forever.
I go to Ortho on Tuesday (darn Labor day weekend) to see what they are going to do. I may need surgery which I am praying is not the case. So I am stuck to my bed until then. I will post pictures later. If you have a weak stomach I suggest you not look at my next post.
Devon has been fabulous. I love him so much. He has taken such great care of me. I hope he knows how much I love and appreciate him. I couldn't have asked for better care. He made me steak for dinner last night. He will be Nanny Devon for awhile since I can drive. Thankfully the kids are back in school next week so it wont be too much for him. I have learned so much already from this expericene. While it can be frustrating at times and I cry I am thankful to have such great people in my life that care about me. It could always be worse. ;)
1 Day down. ??? to go.

Dude, that blows. I'm sorry! I was just thinking about you yesterday and wanting to call you but wondering with our time difference what you'd be up to etc. Should have called I guess!
Sorry I fell asleep that one night you were texting me. It's been a crazy few weeks and I have spent this whole weekend finally catching up on my zzzz's.
Good luck with everything and keep us posted!
